Behind the Story
Artist · Designer · Curator of Coastal Stories
Melissa Dayton is a painter and designer rooted in the quiet beauty of coastal life — raised in Connecticut, shaped by salt air and antique shops, and now living by the ocean in New Jersey where she paints every day.
Her background spans decades. Commissioned portraits. Murals. Book covers. And now, a private-label home line built around one enduring belief: that the most beautiful interiors are the ones that hold a family's story.
Each collection begins by hand — painted in coastal light, developed slowly, and designed to layer into homes that feel collected over time.
The colors, textures, and patterns draw from the places that shaped her most deeply. Sprite Island. Eighteenth-century farmhouses. Sycamore-lined streets. Shingle-style cottages near the sea. The particular quality of light on a Connecticut shore at the end of summer.
"Her wallpaper, textiles, and fine art prints are not designed to decorate. They are designed to belong — like something you've always had, that somehow makes every room feel more completely yours."
If you believe that beauty should carry meaning, and that a home is worth creating with intention — welcome. You're right where you belong.
About the Collections
These pieces were born from a life shaped by heritage, craft, and the unhurried rhythm of family gathered near the coast.
Every pattern begins as a hand-painted original. Every design is meant to layer in gently — pairing with antiques, worn linen, brass hardware, and the things you've collected over a lifetime. Nothing here was designed to follow a trend. Everything here was designed to last.
Not just for this season — but for the ones that follow.
