How it works

Every roll is printed specifically for your project. Here is what to expect from order to installation.

01

Order your sample

We strongly recommend a sample before committing to a full order. Every home has different light, wall colors, and surrounding finishes. A physical sample lets you see the true color, scale, and texture in your own room. Samples are 8.5 × 11 inches and include both a scaled overview and a true-scale detail section.

02

Place your order

Wallpaper is sold in 2-foot panel increments at 19 inches wide. Use the wallpaper calculator on each product page to determine the number of panels needed for your walls. Because every order is custom printed, there are no returns — ordering correctly the first time matters. When in doubt, contact us before placing your order.

03

Production & delivery

Production takes 3–5 business days. Shipping takes an additional 3–5 business days. Most orders arrive within 7–10 business days. Once shipped, you will receive a tracking number by email. All wallpaper is printed and manufactured in the United States at our production facility in Chandler, Arizona.

Start with a sample.

Color is best evaluated with a physical sample in your own light. Screens — even well-calibrated ones — cannot replicate how a pattern will feel on your wall at 8 in the morning or by lamplight in the evening. Samples ship quickly and are a small investment against an expensive mistake.

Questions we hear often

What is the wallpaper made of?

Our LUXE Traditional is a premium non-woven wallpaper — paste-to-wall, 10.2 mil weight, soft matte finish. Our Peel & Stick is a self-adhesive vinyl at 4.5 mil. Both options use non-toxic materials and carry the same original hand-painted artwork.

Where is it manufactured?

All Melissa Dayton Art wallpaper is printed and manufactured in the United States at our production facility in Chandler, Arizona. Each order is printed specifically for your project to ensure color consistency and quality across every panel.

How long will it last?

With proper installation and care, both materials are designed to last for many years. Peel-and-stick vinyl can last 10 years or more under normal indoor conditions. For best results: avoid prolonged direct sunlight, avoid installation near significant heat sources, and install only in indoor environments.

Will peel-and-stick damage my walls?

Peel-and-stick is designed to be removable and should not damage properly prepared painted walls. However, wall surfaces vary — in some cases, minor paint lifting may occur if paint is uncured, dusty, or already compromised. Allow freshly painted walls to cure for 30 days before installation. Remove slowly at a steady angle for the cleanest result.

What wall surfaces work best?

Smooth, properly prepared walls give the best result. Light texture such as standard orange peel or knockdown may work, though some surface variation may remain visible. Heavily textured, damaged, or improperly prepared walls are not recommended. If you have plaster walls or an older home, please consult a professional installer before beginning.

Do I need a professional installer?

Many clients install their own wallpaper, and for straightforward rooms it is absolutely achievable. However, we recommend a professional for: tall ceilings over ten feet, stairwells or angled ceilings, plaster walls or significant wall texture, large dining rooms or primary bedrooms where the result needs to be flawless, and first-time installs in complex spaces.

What if I make a mistake during installation?

It happens, even to experienced installers. Please contact us at melissa@melissadayton.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and photos if possible. We are always happy to help you find the best path forward.

How large are the samples?

Samples measure 8.5 × 11 inches and include two views: a scaled overview showing how the pattern flows across a larger wall, and a true-scale detail section printed at actual size so you can evaluate motif size, spacing, and texture. Many pattern previews are also visible in the product photos on each listing.
